The Sierra Mojada

The Sierra Mojada, more popularly known as the Wet Mountains, are the Rocky Mountain Front Range’s prominent feature between Pueblo and Walsenburg. On or about the last day of summer of 2009 — September 22 — they stood covered with snow. Photo was taken that morning from a distance of approx. 10 miles to the east, in Colorado City. The peaks visible, L to R, are Greenhorn (12,400 ft), North Peak, and St. Charles Peak. Olympus, 10mp, two frames merged.
